Welcome to my blog, "$#!t Rusty Says". I'm Rusty and this is my little corner of the web to say whatever the heck pops into my head. Somtimes it'll be nice and happy, and other times, probably not-so-much. How will my ramblings affect you? Truth be told, I don't know and, (for the most part), don't care. I just hope it'll be enough to bring you back again, and maybe even tell your friends. I guess that's about it, so, what more can I say except, enjoy, (or not), whatever.

Oh yeah, do me a solid and take a sec to answer my survey question farther down this page. Thanks...

Our Rights to Strong Bare Arms.....or something like that.

The paragraph below is making it's way around Facebook, and, no doubt, other social networking sites.  While I was on Facebook, I saw where a friend of ours, (we'll call her Mary), had re-posted this as her status.

To everyone who is calling for stricter gun laws in light of the tragedy in Tucson, may I offer this little tidbit: If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk, and spoons make people fat. Remember: Hold the person accountable for their actions, not the means they chose to utilize!!! Re-post if you agree.

I want to say now that I DO NOT disagree with "Mary" on this subject, but I really felt a need to expound a bit on it, so, below is my response to her posting.

I believe that we do need REASONABLE gun control laws. We do need to do our best to keep guns out of the hands of the nuts who would do this sort of thing. Yes, it is a VERY fine line, but one that we all need to pay attention to and try to find the best possible solutions for. @ Mary.....Not to argue the point, (because you are right), however, pencils, cars and spoons, are not designed SPECIFCALLY for killing. Guns are, and that is how these types of people tend to want to use them. I do, however, also agree that our lawmakers tend to go WAY overboard when addressing these issues, and that the people, (as in law abiding citiziens), need to have just as much say on certain topics, THIS being one of them. Well, that's my take, do what you will with it. PS...Yes, I do arm myself and would utilize it as needed to protect myself and my loved ones, and I do believe strongly in my right, as said "law abiding citizen", to do so.

Dealing With The Criminally Insane

I'll tell you right now, about one person in Arizona who knows how to deal with a lunatic.  That person is Governor Jan Brewer.  With the help of unanimous votes in both the Senate, (29-0), and the House, (58-0), she pushed through emergency legislation, making it a misdemeanor to picket/protest within 300 feet of a funeral or burial anywhere in the state of Arizona.

This new law, of course, is primarily aimed at one particular group of nuts known as the Westboro Baptist Church, and their Head Loony, Fred Phelps, after their release of a statement that they would be protesting the funerals of those killed in the Satuday shootings in Tucson.

Okay..........up to this point, this posting has sounded a bit like some boring old news release.  (Okay, not totally, but somewhat.)  Right here is where that ends.  That's the great thing about a blog like this, is that, we can reach out and touch alot of folks,. but, unlike the "official" press, we can get away with expressing our own, personal thoughts and feelings about a particular person, or subject.  Gotta love it!!!

To Gov. Brewer and all those in the AZ State Senate and State House, Hooray!!!  >>>>>Another nice thing about these blogs is that I'm not under any deadline to post something, and so, as I am getting tired, and hungry, I will return later to add to this.................
